A physician with Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts, Dr. Dan Avradopoulos serves patients at the hospital’s wound care center. Active in several professional organizations, Dr. Dan Avradopoulos is a fellowship trained Surgical Oncologist.

Last October, the Society of Surgical Oncology named Kelly M. McMasters, MD, PhD, to the position of editor-in-chief of the organization’s flagship peer-reviewed medical journal, the Annals of Surgical Oncology. Dr. McMasters will officially begin his new duties in March 2018 and will be responsible for managing both the print and online versions of the publication, which is celebrating its 25th year of publication.

Dr. McMasters was appointed to the role after his predecessor, Charles M. Balch, MD, retired in 2017 after many years of service. The journal staff is comprised of more than 20 different editors covering different sections of surgical oncology. Dr. McMasters will oversee all of their work from his offices in Louisville, Kentucky, while also reporting to the organization’s executive council about the ongoing operations of the journal.
