The 2018 ACS Quality and Safety Conference will be held from July 21 to 24 at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, Florida. The conference will bring together nurses, surgeons, and faculty from ACS Quality programs to discuss advances in quality initiatives. The conference will also enrich care providers with insight into data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation, enabling them to make better decisions with regard to patient care.

Participants will have access to various presentations by ACS colleagues on surgical best practices. They will also hear an address by the conference’s keynote speaker, Rolf Benirschke. Rolf is a former NFL player who suffered from ulcerative colitis. While in his third season in the NFL, his condition deteriorated. He underwent two emergency surgeries and remained in intensive care for six weeks. He recovered and made an incredible comeback to the NFL, being the first player to play with an ostomy bag. Now retired from football, he is the CEO of Legacy Health Strategies and a recognized speaker in the healthcare industry.
